These terms cover your use of MyRabbi at myrabbi.io. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you are signing up on behalf of a school, you are agreeing on the school's behalf and confirming you may do so.
MyRabbi is a learning tool. It listens to a person read Hebrew aloud and gives feedback on pronunciation and fluency, tracks progress over time, and gives teachers and parents a view of how a learner is doing.
It is not a posek and not a substitute for a teacher or a Rav. Translations, transliterations and interlinear glosses are provided to help someone learn, and can be wrong. Where a text matters halachically, check a printed sefer and ask your Rav. Some texts in the app are explicitly marked as not yet verified against print — treat those marks seriously.
You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping your password to yourself. Tell us at once if you think someone else has access to it.
Accounts for children are created by a school or a parent, who is responsible for that account. Do not create an account for a child you are not responsible for.
You may sign in with an email and password, or with Google or Facebook. If you sign in with a provider and the email address matches an existing MyRabbi account, the two are linked and become one account.
Please do not:
We may suspend an account that does these things, and will tell the account holder why.
Some features require a paid plan. Prices, what each plan includes, and seat counts are shown on the pricing page at the time you subscribe. Schools may be invoiced separately.
If we change a price, we will tell existing subscribers before it applies to them. You can cancel at any time; cancelling stops future charges and does not refund the period already paid for, unless we have failed to provide the service.
Free trial. A monthly plan may start with 7 days free. It needs a card, and on day 8 Stripe charges that card the plan's monthly price unless you cancel first, in Billing, any time during the 7 days. Cancel and you drop to the free plan with nothing deleted. One trial per account; yearly plans, and anyone who has held a paid plan before, are charged at once. Every paid plan also has a “buy now” choice that charges today with no trial. Schools are not offered a trial; a pilot is agreed and dated with the school.
Recordings, notes and progress belong to you (or, for a child, to the family or school). We do not claim ownership. We use them only to run the service — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what that means, including that MyRabbi does not keep recordings and which speech services analyse them.
The app itself, its interface, and the translations, transliterations and interlinear work we have produced are ours. Sacred texts are not, and we make no claim to them. You may print and use material from the app for learning and for your shul or school — that is what it is for — but not resell it.
We aim to keep MyRabbi running and to look after your data, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may need to take it down for maintenance, and we depend on third-party services that can themselves fail.
We will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
You can close your account at any time by writing to us, and we will delete it and its history. We may close an account that breaks these terms, or if we stop offering the service — in which case we will give notice and a way to get your data out.
If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top and, for anything that materially affects you, tell account holders directly before it takes effect.
